Since our company was founded, it has been our promise to do the very best for our customers. Ocean freight costs are still considerably more expensive than in pre-pandemic times but have started to trend downward. As promised, we have reduced the Shared Ocean Freight accordingly, but we’ve also decided to do our customers one better and absorb more of the ocean freight costs.

    • For all smaller, non-giant scale products, including all Super PNP foam aircraft, their spare parts, and accessories, there will be NO Shared Ocean Freight Fee!
    • For giant scale aircraft (wood ARFs), their parts and accessories, the Shared Ocean Freight Fee has been reduced by half!

Thank you for all your support and we hope you have a great upcoming holiday season!

The new year is already up and rolling and here at Flex Innovations we are very motivated and pumped for an exciting new year.

During this upcoming year, the line of aircraft will continue to grow, including some exciting new aircraft in both the wood class as well as in the Super PNP foam class. We will start the new year with our highly upgraded Cessna 170 60E G2, which is arriving in February just behind the new RV-8 10E. Other new aircraft will be announced in the future when the time is right.

As it is well known, the freight costs from overseas have skyrocketed to unimaginable levels. At the present time we are experiencing an increase of over 500% for container ocean freight charges and over 300% for international air freight. These are not small increases and must be taken into consideration in even the smallest parts of the business. Unfortunately, if we want to stay in business, there is no way around this other than to share a small portion of that cost with you. During 2021, we instituted a Shared Ocean Freight fee. You’ll find this fee listed in your invoice and as a total for each of the products that were ordered. We’ve consulted with an expert in the ocean freight field, and for 2022, they are not anticipating any drop in ocean freight costs any time soon. We will continue to monitor this cost and we will adjust the Shared Ocean Freight costs up or down as container freight costs adjust accordingly.

Our business and industry are not too different from any other. Unfortunately manufacturing costs continue to rise higher. We have tried our best to keep prices the same, absorbing most of this increased cost. Unfortunately, we have reached a position that we have no choice but to increase some prices. Our price adjustment is not across the entire product line, rather we have selected certain products that really need it and have adjusted them around 5%-15% accordingly.

On the domestic side of shipping, we have some very positive news! Your domestic shipping cost is GOING DOWN a good bit lower! This DECREASE is in all areas, from small to oversize packages and from regular ground to all expedited services. This is happening thanks to you, our valuable customers, for supporting us and helping us increase our overall shipping volume. This higher shipping volume allowed us to move into a more aggressive discount bracket with our shipping partners, and we are passing this savings on to you!

During 2021 we recognized a few areas of our business that needed some improvement. One of them was to reinforce our customer support team adding an additional member. This has helped to improve our customer service performance by a significant margin.

It is my goal and a common goal for each of my team members to generate the best possible experience when you are purchasing, consulting, or using our products. We want you to have fun and enjoy the hobby to the highest level!

Thank you very much for your support and I wish you all a very happy and stable New Year!

Without a doubt, the pandemic has affected everything, making our lives very challenging at times. Flex Innovations and its overseas vendors are no exception to all of these disturbances that the pandemic has brought to the world. To this day, we continue to face many challenges with the manufacturing and transportation of our products. On the manufacturing side, the shortage of basic raw materials from interrupted global production and demand have made many of these materials extremely hard to get and very expensive as a result. Transportation of products has also been a challenge, with the astronomically high increase in ocean freight costs to transport these products both for raw materials to the manufacturers, as well as the transportation of finished products to the US. The cost of ocean freight from China to the US has more than doubled when compared to a little over a year ago. Shortage of manpower to manufacture model aircraft has also caused labor costs to double from what it was just over a year ago. As a result, the cost of our products has dramatically increased.

We always aim to bring you the most valuable product possible, and we work very hard every day to bring that to you. Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances, we are in a position where we have no choice but to increase our prices. While manufacturing and labor costs have increased and are unlikely to go down in the future, some experts say that there is potential for costs on the transportation side to decrease in the coming years once ocean freight and container flow is caught back up and re-established. With that possibility in mind, we want to be as fair as possible to our customers, so we have incorporated a new line on the checkout page of our website titled “Shared Ocean Freight”. This represents a small portion of the ocean freight cost increase (per product), and this value will adjust with the fluctuating costs of ocean freight. While there is not anyone who wants to see prices increase, we feel that this is the best, and most fair way to incorporate these ocean freight increases, rather than just simply increasing the price of products across the entire product line to account for these increases.

While this is never something we want to do, we do hope that you understand these challenges we face during these difficult times. Thank you for your continued support, and thank you for helping us continue to drive innovation in the industry. We wish you all the best!

    Sincerely,
